I don't think they tried that, and now I'm worried that they were a little over-anxious to sell me a Jasper engine (I think they are also certified installers of the Jasper engines). ![]() Later I read in the shop manual about coolant seeping, and that there is a procedure called "peening," where you use a punch tool or ball peen hammer, and kind of smash the aluminum around the area to stop the leaking. I did some internet research, and the Jasper engines seem to be OK. He said there was really no fix for a problem like this, as you can't weld aluminum, and any kind of J&B bond would only hold temporarily. He showed me a little hole, and also in the area around the hole there was water seeping out. I was thinking it might be a freeze plug, but the guy at the garage said that the engine block had corroded from the inside, and had made a hole in the block. The water was leaking from the rear of the engine.
